Busteni
Busteni, also known as "the alpine paradise", is situated at the foot of the Bucegi Mountains, the heart of hiking and montain climbing in the romanian carpathians.
A cable car climbs to from Busteni to Babele Chalet. This area features unusual rock formations which for many years have puzzled scientists from around the world. Are they the creations of an ancient civilisation? This location is considered to be one of special energy. This may be one reason why king Carol I chose nearby Sinaia to build his summer pallace. Ancient tibetan writings name Bucura Peak, 300m from Omu Peak, as one of earths energy poles.
Alpine skiing, begginer and advanced, and sledding can be found on natural, untended slopes. Winter sport offerings have recently been enriched by the developement of Sorica ski area in Azuga:Valea Cerbului offeres excelent cross-country skiing
Theatre performances can be enjoyed at cultural center UNESCO.
